Pullen wins it late as Playwell United hold on for 2‑1 away victory at Stanwick City

Playwell United won 2-1 away at Stanwick City in the Premier Division on Sunday, with Ethan Pullen scoring four minutes from time to settle a local derby that had been level going into the final ten minutes
Dean Ashworth gave the lads the lead on 10 minutes, finishing inside the near post from long range with Karl Neville picking up the assist. It was a bright start against local rivals and Playwell United carried that advantage into the second half.
Just before half-time, Liam Granger went off with an injury and Ben Cavanagh came on in midfield on 44 minutes. The change helped the lads keep things ticking over in the middle of the park as they went in ahead at the break.
Scott Fenwick came on in midfield for Chris Maddox on 70 minutes, and the team looked more settled from there. Both sides picked up a yellow card across the match, one in each half, and the game stayed competitive throughout.

Manager Shaun Bennet was honest about what it took. "That goal at the end says everything about this group," he said. "They kept going when it would have been easy not to, and it was a brilliant reward for that. We have to see games like that out, but I'm really proud of them."
